The Beginning

The story of INNERWISH began in 1995 in Athens, Greece. Over their 30 years of existence, they have managed not only to become one of the most important metal bands from Greece, but also to establish themselves as a respected name in the European melodic metal scene.
In 1998, they released their debut album ‘’Waiting for the Dawn“ through NMC Records, followed in 2001 by a split CD with their friends REFLECTION, titled ’’Realms of the Night“, also through NMC.

The Limb Music Years

Their second full-length album, ’’Silent Faces“, was released in 2004 through the renowned German label Limb Music, followed by their third album ’’Inner Strength“ in 2006. The response to both albums was very encouraging, especially in Europe and Japan. Sharing the stage with bands like JUDAS PRIEST, HELLOWEEN, U.D.O., THERION, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, WITHIN TEMPTATION, MANOWAR, RHAPSODY, ORPHANED LAND, OPETH, and BRAINSTORM — in shows across Europe and in Greece — helped spread the INNERWISH name even further.

The Ulterium Records Years

In 2008, INNERWISH entered Devasoundz Studios in Athens to record their fourth album, ’’No Turning Back“. The album was mixed by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman in Sweden, and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios in Finland.

The band signed with Swedish label Ulterium Records, and ’’No Turning Back“ was released in 2010. It was their strongest album at the time, helping them expand their reach and reputation. While everything seemed to be going well, two lineup changes forced the band to postpone several plans.

However, every cloud has a silver lining — and the addition of George Eikosipentakis (vocals) and Fragkiskos Samoilis (drums) brought not only fresh energy but also broader musical horizons. In 2016, they released their fifth and self-titled album, ’’InnerWish“, which marked a new high point in their career. Once again, the band trusted the renowned duo of Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman for
mixing. This time, mastering duties were handled by the equally respected Peter In De Betou at Tailor Made Production in Sweden.
The album cover was created by none other than Felipe Machado Franco, with design by the renowned Jan
Yrlund of Darkgrove Design.

Moving to Reigning Phoenix Music

Despite setbacks, obstacles, and the broader impact of the pandemic, new material was finally ready in 2024. A new label was also needed — and the search didn’t take long. The German powerhouse RPM (Reigning Phoenix Music) signed INNERWISH, a reward for the band’s consistentdelivery of high-quality melodic metal.

Ash of Eternal Flame

Everything was set for the release of their sixth album, ’’Ash of Eternal Flame“, on November 8, 2024. The band again chose to work with trusted collaborators. Recording took place at Devasoundz Studios in Athens, handled by Fotis Benardo and Thimios Krikos. Mixing and mastering were done by Henrik Udd, while the striking cover art was created by one of the most promising artists of our time, Giannis Nakos (Remedy Art Design). The response to the singles and the album itself has been overwhelmingly positive. INNERWISH continue their
musical journey with renewed passion and commitment to delivering high-quality melodic metal.
